This youth was killed by a fall of top coal when he was filling coals off the wall side, a practice contrary to the special Rules and one to which attention has often been directed. No less than nine persons, all putters, were proceeded against and fined for this particular offence during the year. In addition to these prosecutions, offenders are also dealt with summarily at the Collieries.
