He had been washing a narrow piece of floor between the engine bed and the flywheel race. The stone bed upon which he was kneeling was 12 inches above the floor, and it is supposed that while leaning his weight on one band upon a wet surface, he slipped into the flywheel, for he was found fatally injured between that wheel and the driving wheel of the fan.
