- Fall of roof on road; while taking a tram laden with stones into a stall road, it became derailed on a curve at the entrance, and struck against an "arm" supporting a square framing of timbers which supported the roof. The framing collapsed, and caused a large quantity of broken coal and soft black shale to fall from the roof upon the men. They were both dead when extricated. Nine Feet Seam. Safety lamps. 2 killed.
