He and three other men were going outbye at the end of the shift, they reached the pass-bye when the train was made up, and when the empty one was just outside ready to be signalled in. The corporal told them if they hurried they could get through before the empties came in; they apparently did not hurry but hesitated, and when they heard the empty train coming, they got upon the full set and remained upon it until it was drawn out beyond the empty. Three of the men got off safely but deceased struck his head against some timber and was knocked off and killed.
