- Details of Event
- Deceased was at work on the haulage rope at the junction of a dip and level when a piece of rock 6ft. by 7ft. and from 6ins. to 1ft. in thickness fell from between two bars at the junction. Deceased's foot was injured and septicaemia developed and caused death 11 days later. The roof is of sandstone, often false bedded immediately above the coal. At the time of the accident the Longwall face had advanced to within 40yds of this spot, and the roof was probably disturbed thereby.
