21 January 1937: Fatal Accident In A Lochgelly Colliery - A Lumphinnans miner, Robert Virtue (27), of 1 Beveridge Place, was fatally injured while at work in the Nellie Colliery, Lochgelly, yesterday forenoon. He was working at the face of a stone mine, when a stone came off the side of the workings and struck him, inflicting injuries which proved fatal. Virtue was a married man. [Scotsman 22 January 1937]
