- Fall about 50 ft from a ledge 9 or 10 feet wide on which he was working and which sloped more or less towards the edge. Some stone fell over from a slip or smooth behind and striking him caused him to fall forward no rope being attached to him he fell over the ledge. His employer a working road contractor (whose son was working with deceased at the time) not having him insured had to pay £120 thus swallowing up the savings of many years.
