Deceased obtained employment by misrepresenting himself to be an underground driver with 2.5 years experience, when he had never been down a pit before. He met his death by not stopping at a twine to wait for assistance when told to do so. He drove past the lockering place and was found in front of the tub which had evidently been over-running the pony on a gradient of 4 inches to the yard.
