Deceased, with the help of a filler, was pushing a full tub along the face of a lift when a large stone dropped from between the last row of props and the face on to them. Before they could be released deceased's back was broken. He knew his tub was catching a prop at the side of the way, and they were in going extra hard to get past the obstruction. Probably they knocked out a prop and let the stone down, as after the accident a loose prop and headtree were found on the goaf side of the tub.
