Details of Event
He was shovelling coal from waggon standing on the rails near the fire holes. Four other wagons were unexpectedly pushed on to the standing wagons, running by their own gravity. Turner was run over and killed. There negligence on the part of the Colliery Company for the stop blocks were out of order and the brakes of the waggons were hot adequate.
