He was taking out sprags from under a seam 6 feet thick. He first took out the sprag at the buttock end, and was using a pick on the second where there was only a space of 5 little over 2 feet between the coal face and pack, when a length of coal 6 feet 1 inch and 3 feet deep fell to the third sprag, pinning his head and shoulders against a prop. It was a mistake to take away the buttock end sprag first.
