- October 1916: Glencraig & Lochore – Accident – An accident occurred in Glencraig Colliery No.2 Pit, to Charles Gillespie, North Glencraig, and another miner named Turnbull residing in South Glencraig. They were both working at the face in the Jersey seam when a burst of coal and brushing came away causing both men to lose a finger each. [Lochgelly & Kelty News 10 October 1916]
