- 10 November 1922: Fatal Accident In A Falkirk Pit - As a result of injuries sustained in an accident at Craigend Colliery, near Falkirk, a miner, named John Tulloch, residing at Lochhead Loan, Maddiston, died in Falkirk and District Infirmary yesterday. He was at work when a large piece of coal fell from the roof, struck his shoulder, and caused him to lunge suddenly forward. In falling he came against the point of his pick, which entered his abdomen, causing internal injuries. [Scotsman 11 November 1922]
Falls in Mine (a) Falls of Side – He was working at the face preparing to set a prop to support the top coal when a piece 5ft by 3ft 9in fell and struck him on the shoulder. He died the following day. 10 November 1922
