- Details of Event
- Having fired a charge of 28lbs. of powder in a 14-foot hole on the quarry face about 70 feet from the floor and having waited five minutes he and his comrades returned to the place. Almost directly after they got back some loose stones fell from the face about 20 feet above them, and striking deceased knocked him over the ledge, stated to have been 16 feet wide. He fell to the bottom of the quarry and fractured his skull. None of them appear to have examined to see whether the place was safe or not.
