- Details of Event
- Deceased was turning away a place off an old headways in the Main Coal seam which is here 6 feet S inches thick when a triangular shaped gravelly post stone about 5 feet by 8 feet and 8 inches thick fell upon him from the roof of the old place. The bottom coal of the seam only had been taken out and two shots had been fired in it. A fossiliferous parting relieved the stone. Some timber may have been displaced by the fall. The old timber which had been standing some time was dazed and one such prop was found broken near the fall. The deputy had visited the place four hours before the accident. The Local Inspectors reported that they find no blame attached to anyone.
