A vertical shot had been fired on the face at the top of the bottom level and deceased with the foreman went to the top level to see what work the shot had done. Immediately above the shot hole was a back which deceased was suspicious about as to safety and necessitating constant watchfulness on his part. Both men expressed themselves satisfied that the shot had not interfered with it and turned to leave when from the same back a huge fall took place.
