- Details of Event
- The timber had all been drawn from an opening in the top section of the Thick coal and the opening finished. Next morning deceased saw some coal in the back gob in the opening and went in to fetch it out, though he was warned not to do so, when a piece of black batt fell from the roof and killed him instantaneously It was exceedingly foolish of deceased to go into the opening after the timber was drawn, but he doubtless presumed on the usually hard roof.
