The driver of the train conveying workmen along the colliery sidings from the public railway forgot he had previously blocked the loco wagons. He had very imprudently allowed Tinkler to ride on the locomotive with the shunters and he evidently failed to keep a good look out. The train collided with the waggons. The driver was seriously injured and Clapton and Tinkler died injuries the same day. 2 killed.
