Details of Event
A locomotive was pushing ten empty wagons round a slight curve. The drivers view was obstructed by buildings and the shunter was walking alongside the second truck on the outside of the curve. They heard a scream and found the boy in a sitting position on the inside rail, the wheel of the front truck having gone over his legs. He had been seen a few minutes before, 10 yards away from where the accident happened. It would probably not have occurred if the shunter had walked in from of the wagons.
