He was engaged in working out a pillar of coal in the Eight Feet Banbury seam. He was helping the loader to fill a tub when a large quantity of roof fell from a network of slips, without warning, and completely covered him. With the exception of one large stone, the fall consisted of small material, and from his appearance after being extricated deceased probably died from suffocation. The place appeared to be securely timbered.
