- Details of Event
- Struck on the hip by a stone projected 88 feet from a roburite shot, 10 ozs., in the roof of road. Fireman said he told two men to go on road to keep persons back, men denied this they turned into the first place, a few yards away, in which no one at work, leaving deceased in the next place beyond unwarned. Deceased came with a tub on the landing plate in the brow in line with the shot, the stone passed through a hanging cloth sheet. The fireman received reply from the nearer place, therefore he should have realised the place beyond might be unprotected. Deceased died on the 19th from tetanus.
