Deceased was lowering a wagon loaded with mortar. The brake-guard was defective and would not allow the brake lever to he lowered. Deceased placed a pit-prop in between one wheel and the guard iron, and was attempting to put another in when he was either thrown, or he fell under the wheels. He died the same day.
