- Explosion of a charge of 1lb. of black powder and a cartridge of blastine with detonator in it. The powder was in a vertical shot hole 5 feet 6 inches deep, and was not stemmed, being for a springing shot. It was intended to fire it by exploding a cartridge of blastine by means of fuse and detonator. The explosion occurred while deceased was lighting the fuse with a match. He had omitted to cover the mouth of the hole with clay.
