- Details of Event
- Deceased is supposed to have started the hauling engine to draw out a full journey and in guiding the rope, he must have got his fingers caught between the rope and the drum and was drawn over end crushed to death against the engine frame. The rope usually coiled properly, but it was thought that when he ran the last journey in, he allowed a lot of slack rope to run out, and that it was in getting it on the drum when he was caught.
