Details of Event
Fall of roof on road while enlarging. A party of repairers were engaged in taking out timber on a heading to increase the height. There appears to have been considerable vacancy, the result of a former fall, above the timbering from the top of which it stone about 1cwts in weight fell, and rolled over the old timbers and struck Thomas causing such severe injuries that he died 4th August Two feet nine seam.
