- Fall of roof at face. While holing under the coal, a ‘bell’ stone measuring 6ft. 6ins. by 4ft. 6ins by 15ins in thickness fell and killed him. Two props set under the bell were discharged the thickest part of the stone being over the coal face the props were thus overbalanced. The place was well timbered and indicated that deceased was a good workman. Two feet seam. Naked lights.
