Fall of roof (shale) at working face in Hard Mine where an old pillar was being removed. The roof consisted of a shale ripping 2ft. thick and 10ft. from face, unsupported by posts about 18ins. apart on account of the roof being much broken; five or six posts were displaced by the fall.
