Details of Event
Deceased was cleaning the road on a haulage level. The rider of an out-going journey brought his tram to a stand near a junction and hearing groans looked back, and saw deceased lying on the side of the road free from the trams. His lamp and shovel wore found on the road 40 yards inbye, and he had presumably been dragged along for that distance. The rider saw no light ahead and felt no bump. The road was narrow, but had sufficient manholes.
