Details of Event
Fall of roof at the face in the Old Coal Seam. The roof is rock and a large stone - 25 tons more or less - fell without any warning from an unseen slant and smooth. It was too thick to give any indication by sound. It appears that six props were set under the stone all of which were crushed out.
