Details of Event
Killed by an extensive fall of roof whilst passing along a main haulage plane. The fall was 19 feet long, 10 feet wide and about 4 feet high. It would weigh nearly 28 tons. Three sets of bars with runners and covering timber were displaced. The fall was probably caused by settlement due to the tender nature of the roof and sides of the road.
