Deceased was struck on the head by a stone, which fell from a tram that had just been landed at the surface. The penthouse was within 6 inches of the sides and ends of the cages. He had a large wound on the back of his head and concussion of the brain. He improved in health up to November 15th when meningitis set in. A portion of the skull was removed on the 17th to relieve brain pressure, and he improved for a few days but died on November 25th.
