They were on their way up a stope above the 200.fathom level, when about 100 tons of the hanging wall fell and caused instantaneous death to all three. The hanging wall at this point underlay at about 41 degrees and the rock seems to have been more or less weakened owing to the junction of two lodes. It seems to have given no warning either by working or cracking, and fell with one crash. 3 killed.
