- Deceased was assisting with the work of retimbering the roof at the junction of a tunnel with a main haulage road. The new timber was all in position, and they were in the act of raising an iron girder to form a carrying bar across the entrance of the tunnel, when most of the timber over the junction collapsed. Deceased was struck by the falling timber and pinned against the girder. He received injuries from which be died on the following day. One of the workmen was also struck and received a scalp wound. 1 killed 1 injured.
