Deceased and another were firing two shots of compressed powder in the floor near the face of a gate road. Taped fuse was used. The shots were 9 feet alert, pointing in different directions. The outer fuse lighted more readily, and the men retired, thinking that the inbye fuse had not been lighted. When the first shot went off deceased returned to light the second, which exploded when he was close to it.
