- The deceased men were engaged in enlarging the pit bottom. Three shots had been fired in the roof and the roof carefully examined afterwards. While removing the debris from the shots a large slab of rock estimated to weigh 4 tons fell away from a slip and caught deceased. 1 killed 1 injured.
