Died 20th January. There was some evidence that deceased received a slight injury to his head by the pit on the 12th Jan. but medical evidence after a post mortem examination was given at the inquest attributed death to acute meningitis arising while deceased was suffering from an influenza cold and was due to any accident and so the jury found.
