- Details of Event
- Deceased was employed at the pit head to push empty tubs from the screens to the shaft. About 11ft. from the shaft, at the empty side, is an endless rope tub road carrying fine slack from the screens. Deceased had taken an empty tub to the shaft, and was seen standing on the flat-sheets there but immediately afterwards was seen in front of a full tub by which he was knocked down, sustaining a fractured leg from which he died nine days later. He had apparently stepped back on to the tub-road without hating noticed the full tub coming.
