- Died July 8th. A stone putter behind a loaded stone tub with two 6-feet props on it was taking it inbye down a dipping road and had put a wooden drag into one of its wheels. He thought the props on it were catching the balks across the roof and he stopped to adjust them and in doing so probably pulled the tub back and so caused the drag to fall out. On resuming his journey he found he could not control the tub although it never actually got away from him. He shouted to warn deceased and other men in front of him but deceased either got flurried and failed to stand clear or he tried to stop the tub and was severely crushed by it.
