Details of Event
Deceased was at work in a longwall face of a seam 7 feet thick, when a piece of middle coal and band fell unexpectedly. He stepped back and caught his thigh against a prop, causing a simple fracture. He was taken to the Infirmary, and was progressing favourably until the 19th November, when he collapsed, and died the following day from acute excitation of the heart and heart failure.
