Details of Event
Fall of coal from roof near the face of a heading in the thick coal. The men were repairing where a bar had been knocked out during the preceding night and before they had got a fresh bar set there was a heavy bump and a large quantity of crushed coal fell from the roof completely filling the heading and smothering the men. A fresh road had to be cut in to recover the bodies 2 killed.
