12 February 1930: Miner Killed At Stoneyburn - A miner named Robert Strickland, who resided at Muir Terrace, Stoneyburn, lost his life by an accident in Loganlea Colliery, belonging to the United Collieries (Ltd) He was struck by a race of hutches and killed on the spot.
