- Details of Event
- Deceased was the haulage attendant, and, at the time of the accident, was engaged preparing to fix a rail, which had become loose, and, while doing so, he evidently forgot about an approaching loaded tub, and his head was caught between it and a centre prop. The system of haulage was endless rope, with one tub at a time, and speed was 1.7 mile per hour. By having the haulage stopped for a moment the repairs could have been done with safety.
