Deceased was kirving the coal in a winning headways 9 feet wide in the Beaumont seam when a stone 4 feet square and 18 inches thick fell away from slips on all sides canting out two props in its fall. The overman was in the place less than an hour before the accident and it seemed quite safe to him. One of the Local Inspectors examined the place and stated at the inquest that he was satisfied the occurrence was accidental.
