- Details of Event
- He was leaning over the first tub of a set standing on an inclined road to take out a cow, when the set ran amain and over him, and caused injuries from which he died the same day. The road dips 3 inches per yard, and when the set is run in by the main rope a mooring chain is coupled to the tub couplings to allow of the main rope being detached. In this case the hook of the mooring chain for some unexplained reason slipped off the tub coupling and the set then ran amain.
