- 7 July 1938: Young Kilsyth Man Killed At Work - A fatality occurred at Kilsyth yesterday, the victim being an 18-year-old labourer Robert M'Phee Stevenson, who lived at Drumtocher Street, Kilsyth. He had been engaged along with another man on the demolition of the engine-house at the Haugh Colliery, Kilsyth, which has been closed down His companion observed the brick wall sway, and shouted to Stevenson, but the latter failed to get clear and was pinned down by the mass of bricks.
