- Details of Event
- He was engaged with a timberman clearing a fall in the 3-4 seam in a heading on the West side of No.2 Pit. The timberman appears to have left him filling a train to which the pony was not attached, and returning in about 10 minutes found him under the front part of the tram some 40 yards down the heading. How he got there is unknown as he was alone at the time, but he must have hitched the pony to the tram and was run over in consequence of stumbling in front of it. The pony seems to have been a good and quiet animal, much thought of by the haulier in charge of him, and stops on being called to do so.
