- The two deceased and another man were being raised in a bowk from a walling stage in a sinking shaft 20 feet in diameter to a lodge room 70 yards above, having with them a hammer for signalling and a hook to draw the bowk to the landing at the lodge room; through careless and improper shouting and signalling the bowk while he was raised above the lodge room and struck a byatt, causing two of the men to be thrown out and the third injured. 2 killed.
