Stansfield was engaged at the working face getting up bottom coal left by a coal cutting machine, when a stone 6 feet 6 inches by 3 feet 1 inch by 1 foot 6 inches fell from the roof, between a concealed slip and the face, and buried him, causing instant death. In process of working, a prop had been removed and the regulation propping distance exceeded.
