20 July 1922: Glenbuck – Fatal Accident – At Grasshill Pit, Glenbuck, belonging to Messrs Wm Baird & Co Ltd, a fatal accident befell Archibald Allison, 18, residing with his parents at Grasshill Row, Glenbuck. While at work Allison was caught by a runaway hutch and severely injured. He was removed to Kilmarnock Infirmary where he succumbed. [Hamilton Advertiser 22 July 1922] Haulage Accidents (b) Run over or crushed by trams or tubs – He was employed as a wheelman on a cousie brae.
