The deceased were electrocuted while trying to make a defective coal cutter work. There was a coincidence of two defects which resulted in the accident: (1) Part of a broken stator barrel contact dropped down and connected one of the contacts to the machine frame; (2) A broken earth core in the pommel connecting the cables to the machine. Voltage 550. Three phase. 2 killed.
